Outdoor musical concert

Sheffield City Opera, the region’s foremost opera company, is pleased to present one of their ‘Picnic Concerts’ on our South Lawn.  The Company are committed to bringing opera to new audiences - this performance is a great opportunity to savour some of the finest arias in opera and operetta at an affordable price.

Grounds open from 5pm for picnics. Performance starts at 6pm on the South Lawns of Wentworth Castle.  Refreshments and toilets are available at the Long Barn Visitor Centre.  The performance takes place outdoors, please bring low backed seating or picnic rugs and dress for the weather!

The performance area is approximately 10 minutes walk from the car park.  Please allow plenty of time to pass through admissions and to walk to the Lawns.

The performance will feature a host of musical items that have made a successful transition from the stage to the silver screen, including a selection from grand opera, operetta and the musicals. There will be a selection of songs from West Side Story, Oliver, Carmen, Sweeney Todd, Porgy & Bess and a host of other Oscar-nominated favourites. The evening will culminate with a medley from the ever-popular Les Miserables.
