Welcome to Wentworth Castle Gardens...
Wentworth Castle Gardens Summer Opening Hours 10am - 5pm daily
............
SUNDAY 20th MAY - FOR ONE DAY ONLY!
Glass Sculptor Sabine Little presents the first in a series of "Follies for Follies"; a wonderful glass waterfall of hair shimmering from Stainborough Castle's Gatehouse Tower window
We are delighted to welcome local Sabine for the first of several glass sculpture creations over the coming years, using our monuments as her stage. Remember the childhood story of Rapunzel? 'Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your long hair...'. The story of Rapunzel lends itself perfectly to the setting of Stainborough Castle. Sabine is busy creating long strands of glass 'hair' which she will connect and suspend from one of the windows in the Gatehouse tower. It should be a stunning sight!
Come and watch the construction, and take a photo before it is all dismantled. Open 10am - 5pm. Normal Gardens Admission applies.
Our next major event will be the Lace Wars Encampment : Sat 23rd & Sun 24th June
Britain's premier 18th Century re-enactment society, Lace Wars, brings its 2012 flagship event comes to Wentworth.
See encampments representing troops from the Jacobite and Government armies, see how the soldiers lived on campaign, what they ate and drank, what they did in their off-duty time. Arena displays looking at uniforms, equipment, weapons and fighting methods. Each day will end in a skirmish!

Wentworth on Facebook
Wentworth Castle Gardens & Stainborough Park extends to over 500 acres and includes historic gardens, a children's adventure playground and a fascinating collection of 26 listed buildings and monuments.
The former seat of the Earls of Strafford, the estate has been the subject of a major restoration project. Rare formal gardens have been rediscovered, National Collections of Rhododendrons, Camellias and Magnolias enhanced, and over 100,000 bulbs planted to create a carpet of colour.
With atmospheric views, woodland walks and majestic follies, there is something for everyone to enjoy in the Gardens throughout the year. Watch the deer in the historic Parkland or take the Trail and explore the woodland to discover the intriguing monuments.
There are special events and attractions all year round for children and adults, from open-air theatre and musical events to cookie-making and Easter egg hunts... and remember to stop at our Long Barn Visitor Centre to check out the gift shop and Terrace Tearoom. Online booking is now available or most of our activities and events.
