The Trust has been supported throughout the restoration project by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF). A grant of £10.35m was awarded to the Trust in 2004 to assist Phase One of the restoration, and a further grant is in the process of being submitted to support Phase Two, which focuses upon restoring the conservatory.

Yorkshire Forward has made significant investment towards the on-going restoration of Wentworth Castle Gardens & Stainborough Park. Almost £3m has been awarded to the project since 2004, which has allowed the Trust to restore the estate and open as a regional visitor attraction.

Recently funding from Yorkshire Forward has allowed the Trust to carry out preparatory works in the Walled Garden, restore the Sun Monument, and repair the balustrade in front of the Palladian Wing of Wentworth Castle.
