Originally placed by the entrance to Stainborough Castle the Rysbrack statue  represents the 1st Earl in haughty pose wearing Roman garments. It was carved by Rysbrack in 1743. It was moved to the front of the house for safekeeping.

The Gardens are open daily, April to September10am-5pm, last admission 4.30pm. From October to March, 10am-4pm, last admission at 3.30pm.
