Here are a few examples:

The Strafford Arms - our “local” - this historic pub was once the guest house for Wentworth Castle.  The pub benefited from a major refurbishment in 2014.

Stainborough Cricket Club - The cricket club was a favourite haunt of Captain Bruce Canning Vernon-Wentworth, the last of the Wentworth family to live in the big house.  A full schedule of cricket matches can be found on the club’s website.

If you are looking for somewhere to stay nearby is friendly self-catering accommodation at Delph Cottage or you are looking for a campsite in the area, try Green Springs Caravan Park which is on the outskirts of our historic Stainborough deer park and about 45 minutes scenic walk to our cafe!.

If you would like to take some of lovely venison home for tea, then visit the Yorkshire Venison Centre at Round Green Farm, 5 minutes drive from our estate.

Cycle Hire - check out local places to hire a bike with great access along the Trans Pennine Trail, including Bike Tyke and Cycle Penistone
